According to the Urban Dictionary, a "Flash Party" is "a strange phenomenon wherein a group of people plans a secret event to take place at a public location. The planning usually occurs online. Flash parties are usually silly, fun affairs. Example: A bunch of anime fans suddenly show up at McDonald's wearing blue Afro wigs and singing strange Japanese songs or a crowd of students go to the local mall armed pillows and have a giant pillow fight. Flash party in action!"
